AR Glasses

At Google I/O’22 we gave a glimpse into the latest work from the AR team with a real-time translation/transcription experience using AR glasses.

This demo was the culmination of more than 4 years of design and development work by my team to develop a pair of glasses to assist people with everyday tasks such as reading and communicating. It demonstrates how Google’s translate feature could be augmented into a hands-free, heads-up experience for more engaging communication in everyday life.

What I worked on

For 4 years, I worked on various iterations and internal builds of AR Smart Glasses at Google. During that time, I collaborated directly with cross-functional leads to impact several key areas of the project, including:

• Led system UX and input modalities for early design iterations
• Established visual design system and content layout for core experiences
• Partnered with Fastpair team to optimize device setup and pairing flows
• Worked with XFN leads to establish complete companion app redesign
• Led UX for an AR try-on experience
• Led design and UXR testing for innovative first-run OOBE and tutorial materials
