Maugus Club icon

With a history stretching back to 1893, The Maugus Club is a private racquet club for badminton and squash players in Wellesley, Massachusetts. As far I could tell, the club's logo probably dated back a fair way too.

Existing logo

In an attempt to barter free membership for a year, I embarked upon a self-initiated project to refresh the existing logo and identity. The Native Indian head was something that had to stay, but I wanted to make it feel more dynamic and contemporary.

Colour variants

Ultimately, the new logo was gracefully rejected and I had to pay the $1,000 membership like everyone else. In retrospect, I probably could have made those sideburns a little less wild.
