FoldUp
When I was about 12 years old, my headteacher posed a mathematical challenge to the school: take a regular sheet of paper and fold it any way you'd like twice. The goal is to create a new shape with the most edges possible from just the two folds. As much as I tried, I couldn't figure out to predict the outcome, and that problem stuck with me. So much so that now— 35 years later— I felt compelled to turn it into a mobile game concept. I'm a Product Designer with a background in graphic design and fine art, so coming up with the design and interaction model was the easy part. I just completely lacked the skills and knowledge to build it. However, in 2026 I finally pulled the trigger. With no prior deep coding experience, I built a working prototype in Replit from scratch. I shared it with friends and the feedback was positive. I then ported it over to Cursor AI and Xcode to build an iOS version. Although the levels and gameplay were generated by AI prompting, I manually curated level ordering and difficulty. I'm hoping a future iteration might scale itself; offering infinite levels of complexity and variation, and even add-on packs featuring more shapes and challenges.
